Have you ever had a ‘wildguest’ at your house? A wildguest may be defined as a wild animal which had come into a human home. This desperate act may be done in order to find food or in search of a new territory. The following paragraphs would elaborate more on the factors, consequences, and steps of reducing the number of cases of wildlife encounters in human residential area.
Undoubtly, there are numerous reasons for the rising number of cases of wildlife encounters in human residential areas. The loss of habitat for the animals are the main reason in this case. The increase in logging activities, illegal hunting, animal trade, and human development projects, had contributed to the loss of the natural habitats of these poor animals.human activities had forced the animals to leave their broken homes and find a new one;human residence.
The consequences of the increasing number of cases of wildlife encounters in human residential area are to be worried. These unexpected encounters most probably would scare the animals and automatically, they would defend themselves and their family in anyway the canthat is by attacking. These attacks, would cause death of humans, damaged properties and trauma to both animal and human. In india, attacks by elephants are a common issue. The cause of attacks is nonetheless, human residential area built in their territory. Usually, during this wild encounters, the animals would be killed on sight. More encounters, more animals killed. Thus, this would further lead to extinction.
In order to reduce the rising number of cases of wild encounters in human residential area, all of us should play a role to achieve the goal. The government should set heavy penalties for illegal loggers, animal smugglers, and illegal housing projects. As citizens, weshould prevent ourselves from consuming items in the black market. Remind ourselves to always ensure that the windows and doors of our home are shut before we leave the house. One small step would result in a big difference.
In a nut shell, the rising humber of cases of wildlife encounters are worrying and would not give benefits to both man and animals. To live in harmony, quick actions must be made to stop or limit human development activities that disturbs the habitat of the wildlife.
